Straalbuis schroef
Een straalbuisschroef is de beste oplossing als de vaarsnelheid van het schip lager is dan 10 knopen (18,5 km/u). Door de vorm van de straalbuis rondom de schroef werkt deze als een vliegtuigvleugel. Het water dat rond de vleugelvorm stroomt, genereert extra stuwkracht door het liftende effect van de straalbuis.

Maximum Propeller Efficiency
Current Motion thrusters are designed to accommodate a large propeller diameter, maximising efficiency at low vessel speeds. Thanks to the electric drive and carefully selected gear ratios, the thruster can also run at maximum load with a smaller propeller, since the drive line is engineered to keep the propeller operating within its most efficient range, regardless of diameter.
Low-Noise Operation
To minimise sound levels, Current Motion uses a pulling propeller (tractor) configuration, which creates an optimal wake field ahead of the propeller. This means the propeller can be designed purely for maximum efficiency, without compromises to the blade design to compensate for a disturbed wake field.

Verhoogde efficiëntie
Een straalbuis rond de schroef van een Azimuth thruster verbetert de prestaties aanzienlijk. Het stuurt de waterstroom efficiënter, creëert liftkracht en verhoogt daardoor de stuwkracht. Dit leidt tot brandstofbesparing en lagere kosten, vooral bij lagere snelheden van het vaartuig.

De manoeuvreerbaarheid van het schip wordt verbeterd door het toepassen van de straalbuis, waardoor de richting van de stuwkracht nauwkeurig kan worden geregeld in kleine ruimtes zoals havens en smalle waterwegen.
Verhoogde paaltrekkracht
Door een straalbuis toe te voegen aan de Azimuth thruster wordt de paaltrekkracht vergroot en kan het schip meer kracht uitoefenen tijdens lage snelheden of in slechte weersomstandigheden. Dit vergroot de veelzijdigheid en mogelijkheden van het vaartuig.
Geluidsvermindering
Het ontwerp van de straalbuis minimaliseert turbulentie en trillingen rond de propeller, wat resulteert in een stillere ervaring aan boord en meer comfort en veiligheid voor passagiers en bemanning.
